What your professional rules require
Lawyers must keep secret all facts and information they learn through any form of their professional activity, and cannot be compelled to testify about them.
All communications between lawyer and client are confidential. Professional secrecy includes the inviolability of all documents and communications relating to the defence.
Lawyers must ensure that their associates, staff and anyone else who cooperates with them in their professional activity respect professional secrecy.
The same applies to any other person who works with the lawyer in their practice.
Professionals who disclose another person’s secrets in breach of their duty of confidentiality commit a criminal offence.
How TEPHIA SECURE meets them
Professional secrecy in our contract
In clause 5b, our data processing agreement commits us to secrecy to the extent your professional rules require of you and your staff; where those rules treat service providers as persons who cooperate with you, we accept that role. Everyone involved is bound in writing in the same way before starting work. If data is seized or its disclosure is demanded, we inform you without delay so that you can invoke professional secrecy. You conclude the agreement electronically and receive a copy as a PDF.
State of the art
AES-256-GCM encryption in the sender’s browser, with the key derived from the password using Argon2id. The server holds no key and cannot read the contents.
No account needed for recipients
Recipients do not need an account. Clients and third parties can send you documents through an upload box, with the same protection and the same proof of delivery.
Verifiable proof of delivery
Each entry is cryptographically chained to the previous one. The proof of delivery is a signed PDF/A with a timestamp from an independent time-stamping authority.
